Well, Mother Nature continues to throw winter at us pretty darn hard, doesn't she? Raging wind, blizzard conditions, flooding, road closures and a snow pack greater than we've seen in a long time. The horses
are hinting at the first signs of shedding out, and I've heard rumors green grasses popping up. Alas, we hunker down and work away in the leather shop, thankful for orders but not-so-secretly itching for spring.

"The days are winding down with miss Lola! It has been one amazing journey with her, and I feel so privileged to be able to compete with such a wonderful mustang and to represent such a beneficial
program.
This last
month, Lola has been fine tuning her riding skills in preparation for the riding classes at the competition at the end of March. If Lola and I make the overall Top 10 in the classes at the competition, then we have the opportunity to compete in a five minute "freestyle" class. In a freestyle class, the horse and rider team are free to do whatever they want in the arena to wow the audience and the judges. Because her mind is still so unflappable, I have been brainstorming and beginning to
practice some wild freestyle ideas!
It's hard to believe that the competition is coming to an end. On Sunday, March 26th, Lola will be auctioned off to a new owner who will get to appreciate her willingness and kindness as much as I have. Lola's new owner will not only be getting a fabulous mustang, but also a gorgeous leather halter. Buckaroo Leather has been hard at work crafting Lola's freezebrand carved into it one of their Ultimate Lined Leather Halters that will be gifted to
Lola's adopter in March!
