"January was another fantastic month for Lola! It’s hard to believe that just over 60 days ago, she was just another mustang in the corrals, and today she is more loving and brave than any of my personal born-domestic horses. I would officially consider her to be domesticated, and it’s an amazing feeling.
We have officially passed the halfway mark in the challenge and Lola has now been ridden 14 times under saddle and has a solid walk, trot, and canter and the beginnings of collection at all three gaits. One thing
that surprised me is how well she can stop! This girl can sink down and stop at a moments notice. I wouldn’t be shocked if she had a little sliding stop by the time March comes around. She has an incredible work ethic and would go all day if I asked her to. This month, she went on her first trail ride and crossed logs and climbed hills with ease. She trailered several times, including to an indoor riding facility for a whole week! She got introduced to clippers, bathing, and got her first hoof
trim. She even has started pulling a sled through the snow! It’s going to be so bittersweet to let this girl go in March, but she is definitely going to make her new adopter very happy.
Tickets are now on sale for the Northwest Horse Fair and Expo on March 24-26! The Teens and Oregon Mustang Trainer Showdown at which Lola will be competing and auctioned off at is a featured event, but there are several other events and tons of vendors (including Buckaroo Leather) that are included in the ticket price!"
We have had our Rage of the Sage line available for a few
